É tempo de reformar! Neste clima e mais vintage do que nunca, acontece em Londres as “jumble sales”, vendas de peças usadas, artigos de decoração, misturados a música, comidas artesanais, tipo vendas de gargem mesmo, aquelas americanas famosas. Tudo por uma boa causa – reciclar – e gerar um cash pra quem vende e estilo vintage para quem compra. Anote as dicas do roteiro!

Wills Moody Jumble Sale @St Aloysius Social Club
This jumble veteran grows in popularity each month, attracting an eclectic mix of regulars and excited new recruits who spend a leisurely afternoon rummaging, drinking beer, mingling and hanging out. Getting a stall is like gold dust, so sellers bring out their finest selection of clothes, oddities, records, books, comics and any other treasure they can find.

Jumble at The Amersham Arms
Attracting a mix of local Goldsmiths students and anyone south of the river who fancies a bargain, this monthly jumble has already built up quite a following. Previous stalls have included tasty treats from The Great Cake Escape, and bargain pop art jewellery from Lady Luck Rules.

Jumble Music
Vice magazine’s favourite boozer, The Old Blue Last chucks out drunken Saturday night revellers to make way for a civilised Sunday afternoon of jumble fun. Tables brim with carefully selected second hand and vintage gear, bric-a-brac, music, books and cakes, plus DJs playing a danceable soundtrack.

Jumbleree
This operates on a first come, first served basis – anyone can turn up at noon with armfuls of their clobber and hope for a free table to sell their wares. As well as vintage and designer finds, there is also a barbecue to satisfy your rummaging hunger, plus live music for when you are all jumbled-out.

Jumble and Pearls
Tucked away above this Islington boozer is a treasure trove crammed with high-end vintage and designer clobber, footwear and accessories at bargain prices. Peruse the rails for labels such as APC, Sonia Rykiel, Frost French, Moschino, Diesel and Hysteric Glamour.

Jumblist Massive
Based at Camden clubbing institution Dingwalls, Jumblist Massive takes the classic jumble sale to a whole new level by selling brand new men’s and women’s clothes, shoes and accessories (all donated by high street stores) at whatever price the customer thinks the item is worth. There’s also a selection of pre-loved fashion, books, CDs, DVDs donated by generous Londoners. The best bit is that stock is refreshed every hour and it is all in aid of the charity Bounce, which supports sports and play facilities at schools in Uganda.

The Queen’s Crown at The Victoria
Set in east London’s newest hotspot, here’s your chance to transform your look with cheap retro clothes and eccentricities and a hair cut from the lovely Steph – girls’ cut £20, boys’ £15! If you feel creative join in with the knitting and crafts club; if not, just chow down on cakes, fry-ups and Bloody Marys.

The Designer Jumble Sale
Get your claws out and prepare for a catfight as fashionistas swoop in to pick up a bargain at this high-end clothes sale. Hosting a table is free as long as you bring only designer or your fancier high street items. The event will be fuelled with cocktails and nibbles, plus there is even a HABs (husbands and boyfriends) area to keep your other half entertained as you wrestle for that perfect Chloé dress.

MADONNARAMA!

Em tempos de Madonna… A estrela estará na edição “verde” de maio da Vanity Fair, e pela 10ª vez estampará a capa da revista americana. O título vem a calhar com a chegada de Madonna nas paradas musicais, que já é sucesso e mostra que ela domina mesmo o mundo, ou pelo menos, está na cabeça e na ponta da língua de muitos. O ESPÍRITO JOVEM DE PAUL SMITH TEM TRILHA SONORA

Acabei de falar do abuso de estampas para a temporada londrina, de uma feliz e desejada primavera. Para ilustrar, escolhi algumas fotos da campanha do tão consagrado Paul Smith, que iniciou sua carreira aos 16 anos e hoje (qual a idade dele mesmo?) continua inovando e renovando sua moda para eles e para elas, com o mesmo espírito de um garoto àvido pelo novo.

MADONNA: PRONTA PARA LUTAR

 Afirmando que a vida é um paradoxo, Madonna é a capa da inglesa Dazed & Confused (abril) e fala sobre seu novo projeto musical, material mundialmente aguardado. A revista vai para as bancas dia 13 de março e traz entrevista exclusiva sobre o seu novo álbum Hard Candy, trabalhado em parceria com Justin Timberlake, Pharrell e Timbaland.

 

Madonna aproveita a ocasião para discutir suas diferentes e ocasionais contradições, performer e provocante, mãe e artista e ícone de estilo. As páginas são recheadas de fotos inéditas clicadas por Steven Klein e com a direção (again) de Giovanni Bianco no Studio 65.

PAUSA: DA MODA PARA A MÚSICA

 Adoro dar dicas de novas tendências e não só na moda, mas música também é uma das minhas paixões. Gabi Almeida é novo highlight da música underground, porém melódica. Provida de uma autêntica e expressiva voz, Gabi viveu boa parte da sua vida em Londres e agora aterriza em terra brasilis. Já tocou/cantou ao lado de nomes como Tricky, David Mc Almont, e Anne Clark, e se apresentou em eventos como o MTV Awards de Milão. Seu primeiro disco, intitulado “Pinte Minhas Cores” é comparado a artistas como Bjork, Nelly Furtado ou Morcheeba. Interessante, não?

A fofa vai fazer show em São Paulo a partir de fevereiro. Avisarei aqui!

OFF SPFW: THE MUSIC IS HOT HOT SEX

Acabou de chegar em casa o convite para festa da Zapping (Off SPFW) que o fofo do Fábio Queiroz enviou. A festinha vai ser muito bacana viu, até com Dj Set do Cansei de Ser Sexy. Os amigos da marca e convidados reunen-se no domingo (20) na Love Story, a partir das 23h.

A NOVA GERAÇÃO PREFERE FESTAR EM Shoreditch, Hackney

Um pouco “cheios” do Soho, os modernos de Londres estão movendo-se para as diversões da área de Hackney. Novos códigos postais podem fazer sua festa de Ano Novo ser extremamente bacana e estar no circuíto cool da cidade, como é o caso do Images, que fica na 483, Hackney Road, E2 9ED.

Existem inúmeras outras opções na área que são verdadeiros diamantes (mesmo que ainda não polidos 100%).

Dalston basement club Bardens Boudoir (36 Stoke Newington Rd, N16 7XJ) is already established with a wealth of ace nights like the fortnightly Club Motherfucker to choose from, but daring promoters are taking lesser-known dives hostage, too. You can’t miss the neon-signposted Pier One Nightspot (93 Kingsland Rd, E8 2PB) which gets properly freaky on Wednesday 31 (the dress code is Tron Trash vs Hammer Horror) to electro house whoppers at Ultra Violent Gets Ultra Violet.

Further up Stoke Newington High Street, the intimate underbelly of a friendly Jamaican restaurant, Passion (251 Amhurst Rd, N16 7UN) features the monthly Disco Bloodbath until 6am. On Saturday ace DJ Touché heads up their Hollywood horror-themed night, Living In A Disco.

For impromptu parties, the Kingsland Road area is a hotspot; keep your ears peeled for happenings around Ridley Road Market. Above the shops in the old shopping centre is the Max Wigram Gallery Temporary Exhibition Space (not to be confused with their premises on New Bond Street) that’s used for art shows and after-parties. Another exhibition space-cum-party place resides on Shacklewell Lane.

Fancy throwing your own law-jumping shindig? Investigate the council blocks on Cambridge Heath Road. Apparently you can rent the scummy 250-capacity penthouse of one of them and hire bouncers to guard the back-door lift, where you’ll need a password to get in. Fewer risks await at sophisticated Broadway Market pubs the Cat & Mutton and The Dove, which are relaxed spots to sup at. Or make for the Jazz Bar (4 Bradbury Street, N16 8JN) for vintage vinyl and £4 cocktails. Its never-ending smoking area, outdoor table service and 3am licence make it a hip magnet. Venture past this cosy joint however, and there are open-all-hours speakeasy-style spaces where you can smoke indoors.

There are more kicks over in Hackney Wick. Blaise Belleville, the 22-year-old behind All Ages Concerts, throws the crunk ’n’ bass danceathon Joyride at the Whitepost Lane Warehouse (formerly the Lord Napier pub) and the African Centre (286-290 Cambridge Heath Rd, E2 9DA). For a bargain £3 you can get down to local legends Faggatronix, Ronojoy, Skull Juice and Prancehall. Check myspace.com/joyridelondon for their next party.

Skip past Passing Clouds (Richmond Rd, E8 4AA) and the Ada-hao Social Club (22 Ashwin St, E8 3DL), who host a Halloween party on Wednesday 31, and dash into The Dolphin (165 Mare St, E8 3RH), a Hackney institution that’s always open late and attracts many cool-meets-old-school types. Near Victoria Park you’ll find The Lauriston (162 Victoria Park Rd, E9 7JN): drop in for Elliot Eastwick’s hilarious pop quiz on the first and third Wednesday each month. Which brings us back to Images, where Nuke ’Em All explodes in a wash of neon, nudity and zombified, spontaneous indulgence on Saturday. ‘It’s a whole new era,’ muses Fonteyn.

 Sou fã do quinteto inglês Hot Chip, e depois de muitas especulações confimou que o grupo se apresenta no Tim Festival no Brasil, logo mais.

O quinteto vem somar aos nomes de Björk, Juliette & The Licks, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Girl Talk, Antony and the Johnsons, Spank Rock e Feist.
